Final Group Project

GROUP PROJECT

Group:
Hazel, Mike, Nick, Stephanie, Kyle

Evaluations:
A for all group members. Everyone contributed ideas that in the end led to the final ideas and projects. We were all present for the shooting of the video and each played some sort of role in it. Nobody slacked off or did not show up to any work days that we did, therefore I think everyone deserves an A.

We created a short film about a banana man and a girl with an "orange smile". The banana man is just living his life, on a normal day, until he decides to sit down in public... to eat a banana. He later on encounters the orange girl and they hit it off after a silent, mutual respect to each others fruit problems. They continue to sit together in peace, despite the public passing by and judging them. They do not care.

Catalogue:
Perspective - the view of banana man and orange girl watching the people giving them weird looks
Metaphor - "You are what you eat", banana man eating a banana
Double Entendre - the orange representing a smile because of its shape
Multi-frame - the first three shots of banana man making his way to the steps
Framing - both banana man and orange girl sitting
Life and Death - living banana (banana man) eating another banana

Final Transcending Numbers - 6.2.1

This is the draft that I showed professor Horvath and got feedback on from my group

These are my Original Ideas that I was working with for my number which is 621

Stephanie and Kathryn

1)   Taylor Sanger and Kyle -We liked the point of view of an Ant picture. We liked it because it was unique and well thought out. We liked how the idea wasn’t obvious but once it was explained it was really cool.
2)   Sophie and Diana- Facebook. We liked this post because its relatable as a teenager and we also liked the panorama view.
3)   Ashley and Honda- the picture of your perspective of you in the mirror was cool because it was relatable and an issue that many young people our age face.
4)    Dan and Tony- LSD on the boathouse. This was a good project because it reminded me of Alice and wonderland or some type of surreal world. It was a spot that was on UT campus and was transformed into what someone tripping may see.
5)   Ricky and Scott- This was a relatable and interesting post because texting and driving is such a huge problem in todays society, it reminded us of a public service announcement that you see on the Internet.
6)   Ziona and Hazel- Ziona and hazel did the perspective of a telescope on a ship, it was cool because it felt like you were really on the ship and looking out of this scope.
7)   Maddy and Jessie- This project was different because it was two separate images. If they had been together they would probably make it more clear what you are looking at, but the view of the fly is a cool view because it is something that we will never experience.
8)   OJ and Pasama- stage fright, seeing the audience in their underwear is a common way to get rid of fear, this brings that idea to life.
9)   Damien and Ariel- This was a little bit confusing but once they explained that it was ellis island and the statue of liberty it was cool because everyone else did modern day present ideas, where as this is a historical photo.
10)                   Ryan- This was a picture of a baseball going into the catchers glove. What I would change about this photo is I don’t think that I would add the target, I think it is obvious enough that the ball is going towards the glove.

Point of View, Perspective, Landscape
By Kat Williams and Stephanie Orzel
This photo is taken from a goalies point of view. We are showing the moment right before the goalie makes a move perhaps saving the game. Everything is blurred around the ball because when playing soccer, you must keep your eye on the ball. Oh the suspense!

Purple is my favorite color. It is my favorite because to me it is rare. It is not something that you can find very easily in nature and when it is not manmade. It represents peace and beauty to me. I also think it is more a feminine color, but not so feminine like pink, that is nice to me. If I receive a gift of this color it means something more to me because the person may have bought the purple item knowing that it is my favorite color.

Triangle Square Circle

The glass vase is a triangular shape.
The picture frame is circular.
The cabinets as well as the tv and windows are square shapes

Black & White Squares

Shape- The chapel on campus represents shape because enclosed in the chapel itself are other elements of art. For example the different size pieces of square glass that make up the front window of the chapel. Also the unique architecture of the building is art. All of these elements together make up one large triangle.

Color- On the building there are two different tones of brown. One is a light beige and the other is a tan color. Neither are a primary or secondary colors. They are warm tones that compliment the warm weather of Tampa. A blue building or a cooler tone building may not fit in well on campus because most of the buildings here are these warm shades of brown.

Space- Plant hall represents space because the building itself is a work of art. Between the minarets and the unique architecture makes it stands out on campus. Plant hall alone makes this space feel elegant and old fashioned. When you add in the palm trees surrounding it you are reminded that you’re in a warm tropical part of the country.  This space feels extravagant and unique, like you may not find a building like this on most campuses.

Balance- The windows on the side of Sykes are equally spaced, styled, and sized.

Line- On the old School house the shingling created horizontal lines. The lines were parallel continuing throughout the entire outside of the schoolhouse.

Texture- The pillar outside of the Cass Building had an interesting texture. It is cement like material but it is not smooth and flat like a freshly paved road. It is bumpy and not soft to run your hands against.

Emphasis- The minaret is what immediately draws your attention due to its size and shine, while the palm trees are complimentary.

Harmony- The plants in front of the ACE center are identical in color and size, and planted such they are aligned and equally spaced.

Movement- The eye follows the rounded steps and lines as they edge the grass and garden below.

Variety- Contrasting colors and types of cars cause the viewer to analyze each vehicle in its own element.

Unity - The pillars in the front of Sykes Business School are from floor to ceiling. The pillars create a sense of wholeness in the structure. Without the pillars, the building would appear empty and week. The pillars create a sense of strength, as well as balance the grande design.

Rhythm - The windows of plant hall provide an apparent pattern for the viewers eyes to follow. The repeating window arches are identical in color and shape. The windows are in a grid which allows for identical levels.

Value - The two rows of palm trees in Plant Park has a significant importance. The rows provide a sense of uniformity and security for those who walk between them

Form - The shape of the minaret is a very distinct one. The silver color and the lines that run up the body of the minaret help form a unique personality for the building. The minaret has a strong, wide base and gets small and narrow at the top.

Proportion - The Tampa skyline appears to be a similar size to the tree. The scale of the city looks small because it is much farther away than the tree.
